I was thinking the OP was looking for a way to be able to bounce mono files without Logic "stereo-izing" them when bouncing. Mono files in Logic have the single circle displayed on the file itself in the main window and the project file browser. Stereo files have the interlocking circles. BTW, if you have an interface with other, mono addressable channels for example, I have 2 Apollo x8ps , you can insert a send on any channel you want to bounce in mono, Opt-click the send to set it to unity, then bounce that output rather than the stereo out.
That avoids having to mess with your Stereo Output and eliminates the need to pan. Hello, thanks for all the suggestions! I just came back to this today and found that by making the master channel mono and hitting the bounce button and exporting from there, mono is preserved for mp3 and wav. It needs to be the "Bnce" button on the master channel. I could have sworn I tried this already and that the result was left-sided stereo - I think perhaps a metering plugin I had on the master channel was causing this.
When it works properly, the master channel shows a single circle, rather than two separate or interlocking circles. Reason: clarification. Top Mentioned Manufacturers. Note that the higher the bit rate, the larger the file size of the bounced file. Because not all media players can accurately decode VBR-encoded files, this option is off by default. If you know that your target listeners can decode VBR-encoded files, you can turn this option on.

Thanks in advance. Last edited by M. Reason: solved. I don't think there's an export option to convert to mono. Maybe use a plugin on the master channel to set the whole project to mono and then do your export. Hi onerob - thanks for the response. Unfortunately a plugin wouldn't make a difference at this point in the signal flow as I am already working in mono.
So rather than converting to mono I just need to preserve the mono format at the point of export. I suspect as you say it's not possible but can hope There are two things to be aware of when sharing projects:. For a project to open and play on another computer, all the same assets must be available either in the project itself, or on the computer. Before copying your projects to another hard drive or uploading them to the Internet, be sure to include all assets used in the project.
See Manage project assets in Logic Pro. By default, Logic Pro saves projects as a special kind of file called a package , which non-Apple formatted hard drives and Internet services do not support. To insure that your project opens properly on another computer, you need to compress the Logic Pro project package before copying or uploading. Reducing the quality shortens the conversion process, but at the expense of audio quality.
This should always be selected, unless conversion time is an issue. This leaves slightly more data bandwidth for the frequencies that are audible, resulting in an improvement of the perceived quality. Depending on the original file, these settings may or may not offer any audible difference.
